Overview

The focus of this fellowship is to develop academic dermatologists who will become leaders in the field of contact dermatitis. The fellow will learn how to diagnose and manage patients with all forms of contact dermatitis, including irritant, allergic and occupational dermatitis. They will develop expertise in deciding which allergen series to test, learn how to interpret patch test results based on each patient’s history and physical exam, and will gain experience designing avoidance strategies giving the greatest chance of curing patients of longstanding dermatitis. Fellows will have additional opportunities to rotate in the Allergy/Immunology department, Occupational Medicine clinic, T cell research laboratory, Dermatopathology department, Oral Medicine, genital dermatology, phototherapy and complex medical dermatology clinics.

Fellows gain experience in related departments including Allergy/Immunology, Occupational Medicine, and Dermatopathology.

The fellowship includes rotations in specialized clinics such as Oral Medicine, genital dermatology, phototherapy, and complex medical dermatology.
