Combined Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders Fellowship

Overview
Fellows rotate through the pediatric MS and neuroimmunology clinics at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) (with Dr. Chitnis), at Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) (with Dr. Benson), and through the adult MS clinic at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) (with Dr. Chitnis). Fellows will learn about pediatric MS, MOGAD, NMO, and related demyelinating disorders, and will build a knowledge base around the specialized care for these conditions. Fellows will also participate in a research project tailored to their interests, through resources available within the program including a clinical database, ongoing neuroimaging and neuroimmunology studies, clinical trials, and access to a national pediatric demyelinating diseases database.
Requirements
Fellows should have completed an accredited neurology residency training program and demonstrate an interest in pediatric multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmunological diseases as well as a career in academic neurology.
Curriculum
The training plan is comprised of direct supervised pediatric MS and neuroimmunology patient care (65%), exposure to multidisciplinary care (20%), i.e. neuropsychological, urological, rehabilitation, didactic activities (15%), and other participation in clinical trials and continuing education courses. This fellowship training period is designed for 1-2 years.
