Number of positions: Two per year

Objectives

Curriculum

Rhinology fellowship training is provided by multiple faculty members and directed by Dr. Ralph Metson. The fellows alternate every three months between working with Drs. Metson and Scangas to working on a service with Drs. Bleier, Gray, Holbrook, and Workman.

Rhinology fellows spend balanced time between the operating room and clinic each week. Fellows spend one half-day each week as a preceptor in the Mass Eye and Ear Emergency Department instructing PGY-2 Harvard otolaryngology residents. Fellows will also have protected academic time each week to complete research and academic work.

This fellowship is to be a full-time occupation. Fellows may be asked to supervise the Mass. Eye and Ear Emergency Department at the discretion of the preceptor. Fellows will be required to assist in surgical cases, round on inpatients, and staff appropriate consults.

Research Experience

Research will be strongly encouraged. One-half day a week (Thursday mornings) will be protected for research and educational activities.
