Curriculum
The Lurie Center for Autism is a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic specializing in the evaluation, treatment, and support of children, adolescents, and adults with ASD and other neurodevelopmental conditions. The Lurie Center for Autism provides expert care across the areas of family medicine, neurology, developmental pediatrics, gastroenterology, psychiatry, psychology, and social work. Aspire helps children, teens and adults with high cognitive autism spectrum disorder or a related social profile make social connections and develop independence. Interventions include intensive camp programs, social groups, internship programs, and consultation and training. Postdoctoral fellows will work within the Lurie Center multidisciplinary team to complete diagnostic and neuropsychological assessments, under the supervision of licensed clinical psychologists. They will also have the opportunity to provide social skills programming, outpatient individual, group, and family therapy as well as school consultation services. To the extent possible, the individual fellow’s schedule of activities will be determined based on the fellow’s specific training goals.
All postdoctoral fellows will participate in a variety of training and supervision experiences including weekly supervision, seminars, rounds, and other didactic experiences available at the Lurie Center for Autism and MGH/HMS. Opportunities for research involvement are also available. Successful fellows may have an opportunity to extend their fellowship into a second year and/or apply for junior faculty positions within the Lurie Center for Autism.
