Overview

Dr. Andrea Pusic leads a research program dedicated to advancing patient-centered care in plastic and reconstructive surgery. As Director of the Patient-Reported Outcomes, Value and Experience (PROVE) Center, her lab develops and implements patient-reported outcome measures that are used internationally across surgical disciplines. These instruments comprise the Q-portfolio, an internationally used suite of patient-reported outcome measures, including the BREAST-Q for breast reconstruction, FACE-Q for facial aesthetics and cancer, CLEFT-Q for cleft lip and palate, and BODY-Q for bariatric and body contouring procedures.

The team applies modern psychometric methods alongside qualitative and mixed methods research to better understand patient experiences and outcomes. This work helps clinicians and health systems measure outcomes that matter to patients, improve the quality of care, and evaluate how patient-reported outcomes can inform care delivery, value-based healthcare reform and policy.
