Overview

The Du Laboratory explores the genetic basis of cerebrovascular diseases including cerebral aneurysms, stroke, and arteriovenous malformations via clinical, translational and basic research. Our goal is to apply this knowledge to develop novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies using state-of-the-art techniques such as gene regulation.

Brain-targeted intranasal delivery of protein-based gene therapy for treatment of ischemic stroke

We demonstrated that a protein-based CRISPR-dCas9 system can be used to target neuroprotective genes as a novel therapy for acute ischemic stroke.
