Complex Benign Gynecology and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) research focuses on advancing and evaluating surgical techniques that improve outcomes for benign gynecologic conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, and abnormal bleeding. Clinical trials include studies on risk factors for adhesions and novel technologies like a camera-enabled peritoneal access needle—and laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, and robotic approaches to reduce recovery time, pain, and complications. Faculty publish in peer-reviewed literature to shape best practices and train the next generation of surgeons. Ongoing work addresses quality and equity challenges in benign gynecologic surgery, innovations in pelvic pain therapies, and best practices in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
